1. FIND OUT YOUR SIZE
If you don't already know what size you wear in Vans slip-ons, you can go to a Vans store near you to try some on. I use "Vans Classic Slip-Ons in Solid Colors" ONLY.White shoes are generally the best to use, because I can make them any color you'd like, and white is much easier to paint on than darker colors. You can check out the Vans website to see the available colors and sizes. Contact me if you have any questions about the shoe colors or styles.
The more ideas you give me, the better. Some things to think about are: Astro-signs, names, hobbies, favorite bands, foods, animals, boyfriends, girlfriends, pets, and so on. It's best if you just assemble a list of things you'd like to see on your shoes and send it to me. I will use images to represent those things and work them into a cohesive design. You may also include specific images found online or elsewhere. Not everything you tell me may end up on the shoes, so if there is something that MUST be on them, let me know what that is.
Send an e-mail to chooseyourshoes@gmail.com that includes your shoe size, design ideas, name, address, and any other relevant details. I will return your e-mail as soon as I can and write your order into my little black book. Orders are processed in the order they arrive.
When I'm ready for your order, I will ask that you send me $50.00 (PayPal only) as a deposit for the cost of the Vans shoes. I will then purchase your shoes and start painting on them when they are delivered in approximately 10 days.
I will e-mail you when your shoes are finished and ready to be shipped. You will then PayPal me $125 (the cost of the artwork plus domestic shipping and insurance).

Don't be afraid to wear them everywhere! The paint will degrade slightly over time, as anything worn on one's feet would, but I have perfected my method with each pair that I've made so that the damage from normal wear and tear is minimal. Yes, you can walk through the rain in them. Yes, you can spot-clean them with water and mild soap. No, you cannot put them in the washing machine. The paint should last as long as the shoes themselves do. If you have any problems with them, you can e-mail me and I'll do my best to fix the problem. I love to receive pictures of you guys wearing my shoes! Send me them and they'll probably end up on Myspace
